These Amazing Sea Turtle Photos Will Help You Get Through Work

Turtles are some of our favorite dive buddies here at Scuba Diving, so we compiled 12 of our favorite sea turtle images from the 2016 Underwater Photo Contest and added some fun facts and information about these marine reptiles. Turtle Twins in Tenerife

During a scuba diving trip in Tenerife, I crossed the way of these green turtles. It was early morning and the sunbeam was pierced the surface. I adjusted the setting of my camera and I waited for the turtles come close enough to trigger my camera. After a little while, the turtles were circling around us and it was a great opportunity for photograph them.

Sacred Sea Turtle Sanctuary

A green sea turtle soars through the anchialine Kīholo Fishpond estuary in west Hawai’i, a sacred historical and nature preserve managed by The Nature Conservancy. The site includes two large, interconnected freshwater spring-fed pools with numbers native fish species, mollusk and shrimp. A 200-foot-long ‘auwai, or stone channel, connects the ponds to Kīholo Bay, which has a resident population of green sea turtles that use the inland ponds to feed and rest.
