The Three “Ds”: Dolphins, Diving and the Delfins Difference
There are a lot of big numbers associated with the tiny island of Bonaire — more than 450 different species of fish, 80 dive sites, dozens of species of corals, 24/7 diving, the No. 1 destination in the world for shore diving for 26 years and counting in Scuba Diving’s Readers Choice Awards. And, oh, yes, two species of dolphins frequently encountered in Bonaire’s waters — spinner and bottlenose, often in pods with 30 or more individuals. Whether you’re heading out to a dive site on one of Delfins Beach Resort’s boats or relaxing at the resort’s beach, there’s always the chance these dolphins will make an unexpected appearance. And while you may see dolphins with any Bonaire dive resort or operator, you’ll discover the Delfins experience is special.

The Delfins Difference: A Beachside Retreat
This incredible resort offers an understated luxury and relaxed vibe, with 84 spacious apartments and high-end amenities. You can choose between ocean-view or garden-view accommodations, all with lovely outdoor areas.
The resort’s expansive beach is the perfect place to dig your toes into white sand and view the endless turquoise and blues of the Caribbean Sea. And it’s the perfect vantage point for spotting dolphins swimming parallel to the shore. While dolphin sightings are not guaranteed, Delfins is located on the side of Bonaire where dolphins are more common. The resort has a low-key beach bar, where you can sip drinks and relax under umbrellas on beach chairs while surrounded by palm trees. You’re also just a few steps from the resort’s swimming pool, which boasts a swim-up bar.

The Delfins Difference: Boat Diving
When you’re headed out to a dive site aboard a Delfins dive boat, spinner dolphins are the ones you will mostly encounter. Dolphins are playful by nature, but spinners are show-off acrobats, frequently leaping into the air and spinning. In the water, bottlenose dolphins are more likely to interact with humans, but Delfins dive staff will instruct you not to interfere, touch or chase the dolphins if you are lucky enough to encounter them while underwater. Simply stop finning, get your camera ready and enjoy the moment — it is truly special.

Dive Friends Bonaire is Delfins’ onsite dive operation. One of the best advantages of Dive Friends Bonaire is that it has six other locations around the island. They have the island’s largest drive-through fill station for tank exchanges, complete with gear rental and storage, rinse tanks, retail shop and daily marine park orientations. At Delfins, the dive shop is near the resort entrance for guests’ convenience.
The Delfins Difference: Shore Diving
Delfins Beach Resort is located in idyllic Punt Vierkant, on a 200-meter stretch of coastline. Delfins has its own shore dive entry and staging area on the beach, complete with shaded bench, rinse tanks and gear hangers. Just offshore, divers and snorkelers can explore Lighthouse Point dive site. This unique location — called Punt Vierkant — is where you’ll often find octopus, tarpon, spiny lobsters and turtles, along with the usual array of reef fish. The resort’s signature “Drive & Dive Package” is a seven-night unlimited shore diving package that’s perfect for guests who want to spend their time exploring Bonaire’s underwater gems.
Imagine having an exciting vacation that’s tailored just for you. From arrival to departure all you have to do is book the package and walk off your plane! The Delfins team is ready to make your vacation the one you’ve dreamed about. That’s the Delfins difference.
