Scuba Diving's 2021 Readers Choice Awards Rank the World's Best Diving
Nearly 6,000 divers came together through Scuba Diving magazine’s 28th annual Readers Choice survey to name the best diving destinations, operators, resorts and liveaboards in the world in 2021!
The most knowledgeable group of active, engaged, traveling divers shaped these rankings: The average survey respondent has been diving for more than 16 years, almost a third have advanced certifications, and more than 9 out of every 10 have a dive trip in the works. These scuba nuts pooled their collective knowledge by ranking a variety of categories, like destinations and operators, on a 1 to 5 scale. An independent agency collected their responses in May and June of 2020, analyzing the scores to reveal the best places the planet has to offer for everyone from wreck divers to beginner divers, and more. The Readers Choice winners were announced in the November 2020 issue of Scuba Diving, and results have been posted to scubadiving.com (see links below).
With a 20 percent increase in responses between our 2020 and 2021 surveys, these rankings highlight the opinions of the largest number of recreational divers to date. So whether you’re a veteran diver or newly certified, these results are guaranteed to point your next adventure in the right direction!
Final scores are an average of the numerical scores awarded. A minimum number of responses was required for a destination to be included in these ratings.
