This all-inclusive dive resort on Bonaire offers the full Caribbean resort experience along with a PADI Five Star Dive Center located on property. Choose from 126 junior or grande suites with pool, lagoon and ocean views. Best of all, the property boasts a golden-sand beach, ample chaise loungers and a beachfront bar and restaurant, giving you that relaxing, cocktail-in-hand experience on the ocean.
From the beach, guests can also shore dive. Packages include unlimited shore diving, allowing for endless exploration of the house reef, 18 Palms, or renting a golf cart to explore more than 60 sites accessible from shore across the island.
All meals—buffet style plus live cooking, such as grilled ribs and more—are included, as are soft drinks, house wines and house beers. With big buffets, a fresh salad bar, massive spreads of desserts nightly and a top-notch beachside eatery for lunch, Plaza Resort won first place for Quality of Restaurant.
The on-site dive center, Toucan Diving, ranked as the highest-rated dive operator on the island. Three Island Hopper dive boats and an incredibly stable dive catamaran offer two-tank morning or afternoon dives, as well as a one-tank afternoon boat trip to nearby Klein Bonaire or sites inaccessible to shore divers. Toucan has also expanded to include smaller boats that offer snorkel tours for as few as two guests. A speedboat, just added to the fleet, adds kneeboarding and tubing to the watersports menu. Kayaks and paddle boards are also on offer.
In late 2023, Plaza will unveil a massive rebuild with an all-new casino, spa and reception area, as well as two- and three-bedroom villas with full kitchens, allowing guests to prepare their own meals separate of the all-inclusive plan. Of course, joining the full all-inclusive plan is always an option—after all, guests come here to take full advantage of unlimited diving and relaxation.
