Dive Site: Lighthouse Channel Location: Malakal Harbor, Palau Marine Life ID: Oxycirrhites typus, the longnose hawkfish Film: Fuji Velvia Camera: Nikon N90 in an Aquatica 90 housing with two Sea & Sea Sub 30 strobes Settings: 1/60th at f-22, full power with strobes Description: Longnose hawkfish are not easily found compared with the rest of their family. They are a major predator of tiny invertebrates amongst the gorgonians andsoft corals in which they live. |

Usually, they are found commonly within the lagoon andharbor, hunting on shallow reef flats or sleeping along the sides of the islands. |
