Troy Wynne

Troy Wynne, a Washington, DC native, now resides in San Diego, California, where she is a PhD student at the University of California, Davis, and San Diego State University. Specializing in coastal conservation ecology, her research focuses on the impacts of climate change, pollution, and cross-border dynamics in transboundary ecosystems. An avid diver for over a decade, Troy combines her passion for the ocean with both PADI recreational diving and AAUS scientific diving to support her research and conservation efforts. Her academic journey is driven not only by a pursuit of ecological knowledge but also by a deep commitment to environmental and social justice. She is a member of Black in Marine Science and Black Women in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Science, as well as a Community, Equity, Learning, and Persistence (CELP) Scholar at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Through her work, she strives to create a more inclusive and representative scientific community while advancing solutions for coastal conservation challenges.
