PERFORMANCE» Simulator 5 (Excellent)» Real World 3-4 (Good to Very Good)
FEATURES
Designed for the challenging world of tec diving, the RG 3100 is also a good regulator for recreational diving. With five low-pressure ports on a rotating turret to allow for ultimate flexibility in hose routing, it’s the only reg in our test certified for oxygen concentrations above 40 percent right out of the box. There’s an optional environmental kit for use in cold weather and harsh environments, and it comes standard with a 300-bar DIN connector and an additional yoke adapter. The Dive Rite had excellent scores on all of the simulator tests, as expected of a “tec” reg, and our testers considered it better than average in real-world diving despite increased breathing effort in head-down and head-up positions. Several testers found the oversize second stage and deep exhaust tee uncomfortable.
BOTTOM LINE
A sturdy reg designed for tec divers, the RG 3100 performed extremely well in the simulator tests.
