Massive schools of barracuda, endless fields of sea anemones and occasional encounters with the biggest fish in the sea … count me in! While this might seem like a dive too good to be true, you can find all of this and more at Sail Rock in Thailand.

If you are visiting Koh Tao or Ko Pha Ngan you cannot miss this dive site as it is regarded as the best in all of Thailand. This stunning pinnacle is a granite rock protruding about 30 feet (10 meters) out of the water. It also has a unique vertical chimney swim through that opens up to wide open blue space full of life. Pelagic fish in the area include trevally, chevron barracuda, giant barracuda, Spanish mackerel and Talang queenfish.

The rock itself has a huge variety of smaller life as well and a diverse ecosystem just waiting to be explored. Just make sure you keep your eyes on the blue because you might even see a passing whale shark.
