British Columbia: Crab
High-octane currents, colorful coral and bright-white anemones — plus stars, crabs and jellies — make British Columbia’s walls a mecca. Their checkerboard mix is an invertebrate heaven; the plankton that flows through these passes brings all sorts of life with it for a wild ride. GO NOW /canada

Hawaii
This year, the Hawaiian Islands ranked in the Top Five in a number of categories, including Best Wall Diving. Hawaii’s volcanic topography is better known for bowls and craters, but its few walls are spectacular. The most notable is a day trip from Maui: the sheer backside of Molokini Crater, rubbing shoulders with the abyss. You’ll swim with gray reef sharks, whitetips, Galapagos reef sharks, rays and hammerheads. On the southeast side of Oahu, China Wall is a popular pick for drift dives along its labyrinth of caves inhabited by green sea turtles. GO NOW /hawaii
