60 Second ScubaLab: Seasoft TX3 Drysuit

Seasoft’s TX3 is a lightweight neoprene drysuit that fits so snug you’d think you were wearing a wetsuit. Made of 3 mil Superstretch neoprene, it’s one of the easiest suits to climb in and out of. And it’s the only back-zip drysuit ScubaLab has ever tried that can actually be self-zipped and unzipped. Seasoft also puts the suit’s exhaust valve on the left forearm rather than on the shoulder. ScubaLab divers find this position allows for better management of the air inside the suit, which increases overall buoyancy control. Because the suit is so flexible and fits so well, hydrodrag is virtually eliminated. It comes with Stretchtex 3mm fold-under wrist and neck seals, as well as a pair of large kneepads and built-on Stealth boots that feature an elevated heel and arch support. The optional pocket is mounted on the right thigh for stashing a light or a pair of gloves, and you can dive it with or without an undergarment for year-round comfort and warmth at depth. Many options such as built in suspenders are available. The bottom line: the TX3 is our favorite neoprene dry suit, offering the comfort and flexibility of a wetsuit, and the thermal properties of a dry suit.
