ScubaLab Mask Tests 2011: IST Panorama

IST Panorama

Jon Whittle/ Carrie Garcia

IST Panorama
The Panorama was IST’s first metal-frame mask. Using light-weight but strong marine-grade 6000-series aluminum, the Panorama is a very robust mask. Testers found the silicone skirt supple and comfortable, and liked that it could be folded flat — although the frame doesn’t. Still, the Panorama will be appreciated by traveling divers or those who like to carry a backup. Vertical and horizontal FOV scores were ample, and testers found underwater vision was good. The Panorama’s lenses fit close to the eyes, reducing volume, and the mask was easy to equalize and clear. Buckles are mounted to the skirt and were easy to adjust.

GOOD FOR
Tec divers (packability is good for redundancy); travel

FIELD OF VIEW

Prescription Lenses No
Weight 0.2 ozs.
