The Atomic Aquatic’s Bladefin combines several technologies to efficiently turn kicking effort into forward motion. The first is the design of the foot pocket, which uses a rigid loop of material across the top of the foot and is joined to an internal rail system that extends down the length of the blades. The second technology is the sole of the foot pocket, which is also joined directly to the rail system. The result is excellent power transmission from each kick. The Bladefin’s materials control flex and direct water behind the diver rather than spilling it out over the sides. Oversized winglets or strakes provide additional kicking stability and reduce drag.
