Canister Lights: Watershot Strykr 10W 100M Dive Light Kit
Carrie Garcia
Burn time: 3 to 12 hours. Weight: 1 lb., 10.5 oz.
For recreational divers interested in a compact canister light, this simple system stows a four-cell lithium-ion battery in an aluminum canister that’s only about 5 inches long. The super-small light head, weighing only 6 ounces, mounts on the back of your hand with a neoprene hand strap. To connect the two, you’re given a choice of five lengths of cord — our test unit was fitted with a 12-inch coiled cord that could be stretched to more than 60 inches. The switch is located on the light head and gives you three power settings plus a strobe mode. The 10-watt LED bulb and focused reflector produced the narrowest spot beam in this category, measuring 16 inches across; it’s super bright and supported by a large halo of very usable peripheral light. The unit includes a battery-level indicator, a quick charger, a neoprene hand strap, a battery pouch with lanyard loop and a Velcro tank strap.
