Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, August 30, 2008 - The government of the Cayman Islands has issued the All Clear from Hurricane Gustav for Grand Cayman as of 12:00 p.m. EDT today. Assessments are still being done in the Sister Islands of Little Cayman and Cayman Brac therefore the All Clear has not yet been given for them.

The Cayman Islands returns to business as usual tomorrow, August 31, 2008 - the business of tranquil seas and plenty of sunshine. Owen Roberts International Airport has already re-opened for inbound and outbound flights, allowing visitors to resume travel into Grand Cayman.

Please find below the updated flight schedule for Cayman Airways, the national flag carrier of the Cayman Islands, along with the destination's additional travel partners. All travellers should check in with their planned airlines and hotel properties prior to arrival to reconfirm their reservations. A statement from His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Stuart Jack: "It is essentially business as usual in the Cayman Islands. We are still assessing damage, but initial reports indicate that Gustav caused little damage to our country. There are no reports of any serious injuries or fatalities.

The All Clear has been issued for Grand Cayman, and the Owen Roberts International Airport has reopened as of 1:00 p.m. EDT today. Major businesses also will resume operations shortly.

Since the devastation of Hurricane Ivan in 2004, the Cayman Islands has continued to systematically improve its capacity to withstand hurricanes, as well as other hazards that have the potential to affect us.

Gustav is now a category three hurricane, as it moves away from the Cayman Islands. The people of Cuba, the Florida Keys, and the entire Gulf Coast are in our thoughts and prayers as we monitor this powerful storm."

• Air Jamaica: Will not operate today

• American Airlines: Will resume normal operations tomorrow. First flight will be AA1018 which departs at 1:00 p.m.

• British Airways: Operational today and expected to arrive Grand Cayman at 3:00 p.m.

• Continental Airlines: Today's Houston flight is operational; however, Newark has been cancelled

• Delta Air Lines: Normal operations will resume tomorrow

• US Airways: Will resume normal operations tomorrow.
