The Mild Side

Dalila Reef: Long and low, Dalila Reef is an undersea highway running for (what feels like) miles and trafficked heavily with marine life. From free-swimming nurse sharks and turtles to grouper and monster parrotfish, nothing veers far away. A single cleaning station can boast a dozen different species, while a school of black durgeon let divers get up close and personal.

Paso del Cedral: Cozumel’s renowned carpet reef rolls out a coral-covered mile of underwater hills and slopes. This dive site’s current floats divers above a highlight reel of marine life including octopuses, grunts, sea turtles, blennies, stringrays and massive green moray eels.

Palancar Reef: Possibly Cozumel’s most famous reef, Palancar is comprised of several different sites offering amazing variety, from the lively shallows of the Gardens, to the deep Caves with enormous coral heads, to the drop-off, you’ll find something for everyone – novice to advanced. Palancar consistently delivers, big and small.

The Wild Side

Santa Rosa Wall: One of Cozumel’s most popular sites, the wall starts at 50 feet and plunges down to 3000+ feet. There’s almost always some current, and flying down the Santa Rosa wall is one of Cozumel’s most thrilling dives. Swim-throughs wind through the reef from the drop-off to the white sandy bottom atop the wall. Be sure to look out to the blue for big critters and massive, brilliantly colored sponges.

Columbia Deep: Towering coral formations make Columbia Deep one of the island’s best deep sites. A striking reef wall emerges at 60-80 feet and steps down into a deep abyss. You’ll glide through a maze of monumental pinnacles, the drop-off to one side and a winding series of tunnels and caverns on the other.

Punta Sur: Punta Sur a stunning site off Cozumel’s southern coast. Massive coral heads pepper the dive’s many swim-throughs, from the Cathedral’s enormous caverns to Devil’s Throat cozy confines. Divers can glide through Punta Sur’s famous underwater cave, entering at 90 feet down through a tunnel. After drifting through pitch darkness at a 45-degree angle, divers spill into Cozumel’s beautiful coastal waters.
